A young woman is one of three women held captive for ten years in Cleveland, Ohio by a sicko not worth remembering. She sees an opening to freedom and cries desperately for help.
“I
knew something was wrong when a pretty little white girl ran into a black man’s
arms.” Charles Ramsey, the black man, who was in the right place and the
right time, led them to freedom. In
the face of overwhelming media attention, Ramsey said, “Amanda Berry – that’s
the celebrity, not me – I just played my damn position.”
For
we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God
prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Ephesians
2:10
“I
just played my position.” Ramsey was eating
a Big Mac at a nearby McDonald’s. “I’m
debating to put down the Big Mac [and help] or finish my sandwich.” He played his position, and three young women
are home with their families this Mother’s Day.
Whatever
your hand finds to do, do it with your might, for there is no work or thought
or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol, to which you are going.
Ecclesiastes
9:10
Sometimes
you just know the right thing to do. So you
play your position. With your wife or
husband. With your family. Your closest friends. At work. In your community. If half of life is showing up, the other half may simply be to play your damn position.
